| The season for us started at Nashville Super Speedway
on July 26th and 27th. After 10+ hours of driving with no AC, and in 95+ degree weather, we finally made it to Nashville, TN. It was definitely worth the drive. This was by far the largest spectator Red Line Time Attack event that we had participated in. The crowd was there for the car show, and to watch the Red Line Time Attack event. After two days of competition, our team took home 1st Place in Modified FWD with our Scion tC.
The next event on the schedule was at Summit Point, WV. We wanted to run bigger wheels in front, and due to limited wheel size with 5x100, we had some custom hubs made. Unfortunately, on Saturday's practice session, one of the hubs broke. The team worked all through the night to locate parts, and to remove and put back the stock hubs. Our team again took home 1st Place in Modified FWD with our tC. We also took home 2nd
Place in the Unlimited FWD class. Unfortunately, this came at a big price. On the 2nd lap in Unlimited class, the tC hit the tire wall causing damage to most of the front-end. After six weeks of hard work, the tC was put back together in time for the last Time Attack event of the season. The event was at GT Live (Virginia International Raceway). With all the new upgrades we made to the tC, including a fully-built motor, custom
5x114 front hubs, and 285 front tires, our driver, Ross Miler, decided to take it easy with the car to get a feel for the new setup. Unfortunately, this backfired when we were only able to complete one full Time Attack lap on Saturday because on the second lap, the car actually ran out of fuel. Due to the new higher HP motor running at 75+ whp more than the previous motor, we miscalculated the amount of fuel required to complete the Time Attack session. However, we figured
this wouldn't be a problem because we still had Sunday's session to improve on our time. After Saturday's Time Attack session, we were in first place in Modifided FWD, but only by a margin of 1.5 seconds. There was definitely some fierce competition at this event in Modified FWD. Heading on to Saturday afternoon, our tC was invited to participate in the SIM Race (simulation race). After about 20 minutes on the track, we completely lost 4th gear. Unfortunately, we
didn't have a spare transmission available to fix this problem for Sunday's session so we made a tough decision not to compete on Sunday. Thankfully, our time for Saturday was not only good enough to take home another 1st Place in Modified FWD, but also set the fastest Modified FWD lap record for VIR. This third 1st place finish also gave us the
2008 Redline Time Attack Modified FWD Championship title. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for a successful race season. Without their support, this championship win would not have been possible. Our sponsors are Lustine Scion
, Progress Technology, Seibon, Clutch Masters, Toyo Tires, Hawk Performance, Fuel Injector Clinic,
The Hotstickers.com, and Drive Shaft Shop. In addition, we would also like to thank our PTUNING crew, and our skilled driver: Ross Miller. Complete results and photos can be found at the
